Liz Makin is very well positioned to offer supervision and support to coaches and mentors. She is an experienced business mentor, business coach and stress management consultant, having coached and mentored many people and supported others through periods of stress in their lives.
Liz is an accredited corporate and life coach and a qualified business mentor. She has also trained in business counselling and business advisory skills. Liz is a qualified stress consultant, having gained an advanced diploma in stress management and trained in stress counselling, including solution focused brief therapy. Liz is a volunteer business mentor for start up businesses and a volunteer for The Meningitis Trust.
Liz has over 25 years of business experience at senior management and director level, with Price Waterhouse, Thomas Cook and in her own businesses. This includes extensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of running a business. Liz is also a qualified chartered accountant, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a graduate of Cambridge University.
Liz set up her own business Nikam & Nomis Limited in 2002 with her business partner Simon Laxton. Makin It Happen is a trading name of Nikam & Nomis Limited.
Liz provides coaching, mentoring and stress management services to business owners, directors, managers and professional through Makin It Happen - Coaching, Mentoring & Stress Management.
Nikam & Nomis also specialises in providing consultancy, business advice, interim management and business support services to the travel industry through Nikam & Nomis - Consultants to the Travel Industry.

Mentoring - Liz is a qualified business mentor under the Business Volunteer Mentor (BVM) programme and has completed the Advanced Business Advisory Skills and the Developing Business Counselling Skills courses with the Institute of Consulting, as well as a range of other mentoring courses. Liz is a voluntary business mentor for start up businesses, has been a business mentor on the very successful East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) funded Mentoring for All business mentoring programme run by Nottinghamshire Business Venture and is an East Midlands Business Champion. Makin It Happen is an approved organisation on mentorsmes.co.uk, which connects companies with mentoring organisations that can support and guide their growth.
Coaching - Liz has gained The Henley Certificate in Coaching from Henley Business School and is an accredited corporate and life coach with The Coaching Academy. She is currently studying for a MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School after reaching the final of a Daily Telegraph and Henley Business School competition. Makin It Happen is included on the Henley Register of Coaches.
Stress Consultancy - Liz completed her stress consultancy training with The BSY Group. She is a CCC Registered Counsellor and is listed on the National UK Therapist Register and the Healers Directory.
ICAEW - Liz is a qualified accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
The Meningitis Trust - Liz is a volunteer for The Meningitis Trust providing one to one support for parents.
